| The Real Balneario Carlos III, or Carlos III Royal Spa, founded in the 18th century by Madrid's king and mayor, who gave it its name. The present-day building, which stands within an impressive 40-hectare estate surrounded by oaks, holm oaks and pines and encircled by the Tajo River, was inaugurated on August 1, 2005. The TermaEuropa Carlos III tourist complex comprises the newly-constructed Hotel Carlos III, with 86 air-conditioned rooms and direct access to the Spa, the rural/thermal tourist area of El Colvillo, which has 25 chalets, and the large historic park surrounding the Spa and containing the archaeological remains of the former spa and the royal cellar. It has rooms for meetings, incentive events and banquets and possibilities for outdoor activities. |
